PRESENTATION
The Martin Devetak Institution – foundation for development of health care in the region of Severna Primorska (North littoral), hereinafter: institution or foundation, was founded on the basis of a unique and noble decision of a founder who wants to stay anonymous. Therefore, we ask you to take into account, respect this wish and to act according to this.
By founding this institution the founder wanted to fulfil the wish of her deceased husband Martin Devetak, from whom the institution takes its name.
The purpose of the foundation is particularly:
a) to finance and co-finance education of doctors and other health workers of the hospital in Šempeter pri Gorici and other health institutions and individuals in the field of health care in Severna Primorska, particularly with the aim to obtain and introduce (new) specialist knowledge, technological procedures, working methods and greater quality of health services, etc.;
b) to finance and co-finance research projects and tasks in the field of medicine which are of particular importance for the inhabitants of Severna Primorska;
c) to finance and co-finance the obtaining of instruments, devices and other equipment in connection with education, technological procedures, working methods, quality of health services, etc., set out in points a) and b).
The institution’s Management Board can supplement the above indicated activities by other activities as far as this is in accordance with the institution’s purpose and the law.
Each calendar year the founding assets of the institution (300,000 EUR) can be reduced by the decision of the Managament Board for the purpuse of the foundation for a maximum of EUR 30,000 and up to a maximum of EUR 100,000.
The aim of this regulation is that the institution shall perform its activity by obtaining additional donation funds which are thought to become the basis for institution’s long-term operation.
The beneficiaries of institution’s funds can be either legal or natural persons.
Once per year the institution shall, as a rule, prepare an invitation to tender relating to financing and co-financing. The funds will be allocated on its basis by taking in consideration the criteria accepted by the institution’s Management Board
In order to provide for operation’s transparency, the institution’s Management Board will inform the public and the donators about the use of funds on the institution’s webpage or in any other adequate way.
The uniqueness and nobleness of the founder’s action, the relevant amount designed for foundation, the idea itself about the foundation and operation of the institution and its purpose offer a basis for its long-term activity.
To encourage those who are willing to support the institution with their own contributions, let me remind you that we, as the Management Board’ members, do our work for free. In this spirit I have also performed all months-long legal, administrative, organizational and other services relating to the establishment of the institution and borne the costs in this sense (notary, publications, translations, etc.), since the moral stance did not permit me that the founder would have to bear any costs for her unique and noble action.
In this spirit and supported by the idea of Dr Martin Šinigoj, the Martin Devetak Institution – foundation for development of health care in the region of Severna Primorska was created. I wish it would implement its mission in the spirit in which it was born for the benefit of all inhabitants of Severna Primorska.
If we obtain, retain, etc. the health staff which is more than necessary, introduce new, better and patient-friendly healing methods and improve the quality of health services in general – also partially with the help of the Martin Devetak Institution, then the purpose of the institution and of all those who have already taken part and will take part in its foundation and work, will be achieved. This unique action of the founder simply calls to this purpose!
In this respect you are all politely invited to take part in implementing the purpose of the institution by contributing your donation funds so that the nobility and spirit of the action of the founder and Mr Martin Devetak will continue to live.
